Naseem Shah Ruled Out Of Rest Of Asia Cup 2023 With Shoulder Injury

Pakistan suffered a big setback ahead of their must-win Asia Cup match against Sri Lanka, with fast bowler Naseem Shah ruled out for the remainder of the tournament due to a right shoulder injury.

The 20-year-old speedster, who fight against India, complained of pain during the Super Four clash. After being assessed by medical staff, he has been advised to rest in preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Naseem will be replaced by uncapped pacer Zaman Khan for the crucial tie against Sri Lanka. The winner of this match will qualify for the Asia Cup final against India.

There is positive news regarding Haris Rauf’s fitness-the pacer is recovering well from his injury scare against India and is expected to be match-fit.

However, rain threatens to play spoilsport on match day, which could significantly impact the winner-takes-all contest. With no reserve day allotted, both teams will hope the weather allows for a full, uninterrupted match.

Losing Naseem is a big blow for Pakistan, considering his wicket-taking abilities. But the team will be motivated to give it their all and secure a place in the final of this tightly contested Asia Cup.
