At the Request of Quaid-e-Azam Himself, Master Altaf Hussain Stitched the First Flag for Pakistan

Zahoorul Hassan, whose dad was a tailor named Altaf Hussain, strongly believes that his father should be remembered in Pakistan’s history for making the country’s very first flag.

“We’ve been working hard for the past forty years to get people to officially recognize what my dad did for Pakistan’s history,” Zahoorul Hassan said.

He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself had asked his dad to make the flag.

Zahoorul Hassan showed a picture from a magazine called Life, dated August 18, 1947. The picture shows his dad, wearing a khaki uniform, sewing the green and white flag that we all know. He also mentioned that Barrister Muhammad Sameen Khan saw this happening.

Zahoorul Hassan has been trying really hard to make sure that people know about his dad’s important role in making Pakistan’s first flag.

Zahoorul Hassan’s effort shows how important it is to remember the people who did important things in history, even if they didn’t get a lot of attention at the time. He wants everyone to know that his dad, Altaf Hussain, was the person who made Pakistan’s very first flag.
