Imran Khan, a former cricketing hero and former prime minister, voiced his steadfast opinion that Babar Azam has the capacity to outperform Virat Kohli in terms of accomplishments.Speaking to a local sports journalist, Khan asserted that despite his recent absence from cricket, he is confident from what he has seen that Babar can easily surpass the records held by Indian legends.
“I haven’t recently seen cricket, but I believe that Virat Kohli and Babar Azam belong to the same class. Babar Azam can surpass Virat Kohli; he is that good, from what I have seen,” Khan said
Khan added that he had nominated Babar to the then-chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ehsan Mani, for the position of captain of the national side.Although bold, Khan’s assertion that Babar can outperform Virat Kohli has some merit. The 28-year-old’s tremendous batting ability, maturity, and work ethic all combine to give him the chance to surpass Kohli’s records.
