Daraz Installed Solar Panels to Create Sustainable Environment

Daraz has recently taken an initiative to promote sustainability in the Environment by installing solar energy panels at its Lahore facility. The main objective behind this initiative is to improve the environment by promoting sustainability in the ecosystem.

According to the sources, many challenges are been faced by Pakistan in order to reduce carbon emission, environmental pollution as well as to tackle the obstacles to meet the demand of creating a sustainable ecosystem. However, Daraz, being a corporate giant in the country is strategically working as a responsible part of the society by taking measures to reduce carbon footprint.

Daraz seamlessly stepped forward to optimize the use of energy efficiently with the core purpose of uplifting the community by reducing its carbon footprint. Installation of solar panels will help to reduce the estimated carbon footprint by 104 metric tons that are probably equivalent to planting 176 trees per year.

The world is moving at a fast pace for saving the environment by reducing the emission of greenhouse gases; however, it is a proud moment for Pakistan that its local sectors like Daraz, are now participating in emitting no greenhouse gases.

According to the Chief Operations Officer at Daraz, Ahmed Tanveer, “Pakistan is among the top 10 countries that are most impacted by climate change, a lot of efforts are happening at national level in order to change this situation and already we can see some results as we have descended from 5th to 8th in the recent ranking.”

He further added that “We as Daraz also feel responsible to play our part in improving this situation and have set an objective for ourselves to reduce the carbon footprint, this project alone will help us reduce it by 104 metric tons/annum and would be equivalent of planting 176 trees annually. This hopefully is one of many sustainability projects that we are going to execute in coming years.”

The “Clean and Green” program in Pakistan has been launched for improving the ecosystem. High population growth in the country has been a serious threat to the economy and environmental sustainability of the country. Moreover, Daraz aims to move all its facilities towards solar energy, and this initiative will surely have a great impact in creating a sustainable ecosystem.
