Dubai to Get its own Moon on Top of Skyscraper

A resort in Dubai aims to build a fake moon on top of a tall building, as reported by The Mirror. The project, called “Moon,” is led by Canadian entrepreneur Michael Henderson and involves constructing a sphere on a 30-meter structure, with a length of 274 meters.

The purpose of this project is to offer visitors an experience of being on a space satellite without leaving Earth. The creators hope that the fake moon will attract over 2.5 million people annually, generating more than £1.5 billion in revenue each year. The funding, amounting to £4.28 billion, will be provided by Moon World Resorts.

Henderson expressed confidence in the project’s success, highlighting the global recognition of the Dubai brand. Inside the moon, there will be a resort featuring a 4,000-room hotel, a 10,000-capacity arena, a nightclub, and a wellness center. Guests will also have the opportunity to simulate walking on the moon through a “lunar colony.” Additionally, the artificial moon will illuminate at night to resemble a full, half, or crescent moon.
