FM Ishaq Dar Emphasises Continued Dialogue with Abbas Araghchi as Momentum Builds for US Peace Talks

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing the urgent need for dialogue, diplomacy, and sustained engagement to address pending issues and promote lasting peace in the region. Both sides discussed the evolving regional situation and agreed that continued communication and coordinated efforts are essential at a sensitive time.

During the call, the two foreign ministers also agreed to remain in close contact regarding regional developments and ceasefire-related matters, highlighting the importance of cooperation to prevent further escalation and maintain stability.

In a separate development, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role in helping facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington. Her remarks reflected growing international recognition of Islamabad’s efforts to support peaceful engagement during a period of heightened tensions.

Pakistan is also preparing to host the second round of Iran-US talks, with reports suggesting that a United States delegation led by Vice President JD Vance is expected to participate. By offering itself as a venue for negotiations, Islamabad is seeking to position itself as a neutral and reliable mediator amid the ongoing Iran-US-Israel crisis, while reinforcing its commitment to regional peace and diplomacy.
