Former PM Imran Khan No.1 Choice for Experts to Stabilise Pakistan’s Economy: Blooming Surrey

According to a Bloomberg survey released this week, Pakistani finance professionals believe that imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan is the best candidate to manage the struggling country’s economy’s recovery.

Out of 12 traders, economists, and analysts from some of the largest brokerages in the country, Khan was ranked highest despite being practically prohibited from running in the election on February 8. The “enduring popularity” of the former cricket player was mentioned by respondents as a major factor in their assessment of his ability to eventually enact reforms centred on the market.

In comparison to competitors, such as Khan, Sharif’s party outperformed them in terms of economic management over the previous thirty years, according to a Bloomberg Economics analysis of Pakistan’s misery index, which is a measure of unemployment and inflation.
