Government Announces Holiday on March 21 & 22

The Rawalpindi district administration’s decision to declare a public holiday on March 21 and 22 in anticipation of the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23 reflects the significance of this national event. This move aims to facilitate the smooth execution of the parade by allowing citizens to participate and attend without the burden of work or school obligations.

The notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, underscores the importance of the Pakistan Day Parade as a symbol of the nation’s unity, resilience, and rich heritage. It highlights the active engagement of citizens from across the country in ensuring a vibrant celebration that showcases Pakistan’s diverse culture.

However, despite the holiday, certain exceptions are made to ensure continuity in essential services and activities. The exemption of the SSC-1 Annual Examination by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi indicates the commitment to academic schedules amidst the festive atmosphere.

In addition to facilitating the parade, the administration has taken preemptive security measures to maintain public safety and order. The ban on activities such as flying kites, laser lights, aerial firing, and the use of drone cameras underscores the importance of ensuring a peaceful and secure environment during the celebrations.

The imposition of section 144 of the Pakistan Penal Code to enforce these security measures highlights the administration’s resolve to deter any potential disruptions or security threats. Violators will face strict legal consequences, emphasizing the seriousness of adhering to these regulations for the collective well-being of the community.
