Higher Education Commission (HEC) Announces Jobs Opportunities in Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced job openings for the position of Project Coordinator under the Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) Project. This initiative, supported by financing from the World Bank, aims to enhance research excellence, improve teaching and learning, and strengthen governance in the higher education sector.

Position Details

The HEC is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the role of Project Coordinator. This position will be based in Islamabad and will involve managing the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) established for the HEDP project.

Key Requirements

  1. Qualification: Candidates must hold a master’s degree (16 years of education) from a recognized national or international university. Additional project management qualifications will be an advantage.
  2. Experience: Applicants should have at least 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior-level position managing large, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and international donors. Experience in the education sector will be given preference.
  3. Skills: The role requires documented experience in interacting with senior policymakers and development institutions. Proficiency in computer applications and office software is mandatory.

  • Interviews: Candidates residing outside the Islamabad/Rawalpindi area can participate in interviews via audio or video conferencing from the nearest HEC offices in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, or Peshawar.
  • No TA/DA: Applicants should note that no travel allowance (TA) or daily allowance (DA) will be provided for attending interviews.
