‘If Pakistan Beats India in This World Cup, I Will Dance Like Irfan Pathan’, Muhammad Amir

Former Pakistani fast bowler Muhammad Amir has made a bold statement, declaring that if the Pakistan cricket team manages to reach the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023 and defeat arch-rivals India, he will dance in a similar fashion to ex-Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan. This promise came in response to a viral video of Irfan Pathan dancing with Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan after Pakistan’s unexpected loss to Afghanistan in the same tournament. The video triggered a fresh wave of rivalry and banter between India and Pakistan on social media.

During a segment on Geo News’ program ‘Harna Manaa Hai,’ a viewer asked former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq whether Pakistan could beat India in the semi-finals or suffer a similar fate as the infamous 192-run total against India.

In response, Abdul Razzaq wisely pointed out that it’s essential to first hope that Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, as competition in the World Cup is fierce, and many teams don’t want Pakistan to advance that far. His words reflect the intense competition in international cricket, where every team vies for glory, especially in matches between traditional rivals like India and Pakistan, which always capture the imagination of cricket fans around the world.
