Intense Heat! Islamabad Hits 40°C for the First Time this Season, Dust Storm Expected

Islamabad experienced its hottest day of the year as temperatures climbed to 40°C for the first time this season. The capital is currently under a strong heatwave, with residents complaining of extremely uncomfortable and scorching conditions throughout the day.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the sudden temperature rise has made the weather very difficult, especially for those who have to work outdoors. Many people took to social media to share their experiences, describing the intense heat and expressing concern over the changing weather.

The Met Office has also warned of strong winds and a possible dust storm in Islamabad and surrounding areas later tonight. The dust storm may reduce visibility on roads and could cause temporary power outages in some localities due to strong gusts.

Authorities have advised citizens to take necessary precautions during this heatwave. People are urged to drink plenty of water, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours (12 PM to 4 PM), and wear light-coloured, loose clothing.

Special care should be taken for children, elderly people, and those with health issues, as the intense heat is expected to continue for the next few days.
