The hearing on the petition for increase in the term of quarterly adjustment in electricity prices was completed.
NEPRA approved increase in electricity prices by Rs1.25 per unit. An additional Rs46 billion will be collected from electricity consumers. The increase in electricity prices will be in the form of adjustment from January to March.
According to NEPRA, the increase in electricity prices will be applicable from June to September this year. A detailed decision on electricity prices will be issued later.
Nepra said that the increase in electricity prices will be implemented after the notification of the federal government, the government is currently charging an additional 47 paise per unit from electricity consumers, 47 paise per unit adjustment will be charged by June.
