Islamabad’s Red Zone has been completely sealed as Pakistan prepares to host another round of high-level talks between the United States and Iran. In light of the heightened security environment, authorities have shifted offices, educational institutions, and several government departments to online operations for April 20 to reduce movement and ensure public safety.
Extensive security measures have been enforced across the federal capital and neighboring Rawalpindi, including the suspension of public and heavy transport, closure of key roads, and the deployment of a large number of security personnel. Metro bus services have been halted, and certain police facilities have also been shut as part of the lockdown of sensitive areas.
Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and rely on official updates for guidance. While these steps are aimed at ensuring safety during the diplomatic engagements, they have caused widespread disruption to daily routines, affecting commuting, business activities, and access to essential services across the twin cities.
