Pakistan & Germany Sign €17.5 Million Regional Infrastructure Fund Agreement

Recently, an agreement has been signed between the government of Pakistan and Germany for the regional infrastructure fund amounting Euro 17.5 million.

The signing ceremony for the project “Regional Infrastructure Fund – II for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for Resilient Resource Management in Cities (RRMiC)” .

The agreement was signed by secretary Ministry of Economic Affairs Mian Asad Hayaud Din,and country director KfW (German Bank for Development) Sebastian Jacobi,.

Through the KfW development Bank, the government of Germany would provide a grant of Euro 17.5 million to the Government of Pakistan for the project.

Since the founding of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 1961, Pakistan has been a recipient of German Development Assistance.

The total development, technical and financial since 1961 amount to € 3.8 billion. This would be a bridge to enhance economic ties.

Provided funds by the German Government, KfW Development Bank will support the Government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in investments in community infrastructure, improvements in capacity and service delivery, citizen participation and equality and consultant and contingency services in two districts of KP province.

The purpose is to propose an integrated, multi-sectoral, resilient, and sustainable water and solid waste management with a participatory approach in selected tehsil towns.

KfW is helping actively to the Government of Pakistan in the governance sector. This would bring positive impact plus the sustainability in the loves of deserving communities in Pakistan. Further it would help to have a better infrastructure which was damaged due to flood, stated by Jocobi.

Hayaud Din showed thankfulness to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for actively supporting Pakistani people through out the projects. In additional, he stated that investment would lead to a better and healthy future for the next generation.
