Pakistan Gifted Navy’s Ship TARIQ to UK as Goodwill Gesture

Pakistan has generously gifted the historic lead ship PNS TARIQ to the United Kingdom as a gesture of goodwill. The Transfer Agreement Signing Ceremony , held at the Pakistan High Commission in London. It’s impressive that Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi and former First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff of the Royal British Navy, Admiral Lord Alan West, were present at the ceremony. This shows the importance and significance of the occasion.

The ex-PNS TARIQ, which was decommissioned by the Pakistan Navy in August 2023, will be transformed into a floating museum by the UK-based firm Falls of Clyde International. It will be a proud symbol of the shared naval heritage between the Royal and Pakistan navies and will be on display at the Clyde Maritime Heritage Centre in Glasgow. It’s a wonderful way to honor the close relationship between our nations.

Admiral Lord Alan West emphasized the strong bond between the navies and nations of Pakistan and the UK. He highlighted the historic agreement centered around the ship PNS TARIQ, which has served both countries over the years.
