Pakistan’s Hasan Ali ruled out of must-win South Africa clash

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that fast bowler Hasan Ali will be unavailable for Pakistan’s upcoming match against South Africa due to illness. Hasan Ali recently suffered from a fever, but the PCB mentioned that he is on the path to recovery. As a precaution, he will be given time to fully recuperate before returning to the team for the remaining matches.

In Hasan Ali’s absence, well-informed sources have indicated that fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Junior is likely to step in as his replacement in the squad.

Pakistan’s journey in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup has been a mixed one. After promising victories against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, they faced defeats at the hands of India and Australia. Their most recent loss came against Afghanistan. The upcoming match against South Africa is a crucial one, with Pakistan needing a victory to keep their semi-final hopes alive. With just four group games remaining, the margin for error is minimal.

Despite the challenges, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has expressed the team’s unwavering belief in their abilities. He emphasized that in cricket, “miracles can happen” and mentioned that their mindset is focused on a “do-or-die” battle to revive their World Cup campaign.

The South Africa clash is an important test for Pakistan, as they seek to regain their winning form and advance in the tournament. The team’s resilience and determination will be key factors in their quest to secure a spot in the World Cup semi-finals.
