Rescue-1122 Rescued Over 2.1 Million People in 2023

In 2023, Secretary of Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer announced impressive achievements by Rescue-1122, showcasing the organization’s pivotal role in responding to emergencies throughout the province. The substantial increase of 20.8 percent in emergencies, as compared to 2022, underscores the heightened demand for emergency services.

The data unveiled during the annual performance review meeting revealed a noteworthy surge in road accidents, reaching 420,387 incidents—an alarming 13.8 percent rise from the previous year. On a positive note, fire incidents witnessed a significant decline of 22 percent, showcasing the effectiveness of preventive measures and response strategies implemented by Rescue-1122.

The detailed briefing provided insights into diverse rescue operations, with a staggering 1,176,457 medical emergencies managed, 43,302 crime emergencies responded to, and 1,279 drowning cases addressed. The organization also tackled structural collapses, animal rescues, and a multitude of miscellaneous incidents, totaling 180,495.

Rescue-1122’s commitment extended beyond mere response, with 161,378 victims benefiting from patient transfer services and the Motorbike Rescue Service swiftly handling 632,446 emergencies in 2023.
