Scientists Find Rare Solar System in the Milky Way with Six Planets Orbiting a Star Perfectly In-Sync

A rare solar system with six planets moving in perfect synchrony has been discovered by astronomers.

Located 100 light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices, the solar system provides a unique opportunity to study how solar systems form.

The planets, discovered through observations by NASA’s Tess and the European Space Agency’s Cheops, are untouched by external forces, offering insights into the conditions of our own solar system billions of years ago.

While none of the planets are within the star’s habitable zone, researchers hope to gain a better understanding of our own solar system’s evolution through this comparative study.

The star, known as HD 110067, may have additional undiscovered planets, and further observations are needed to analyze the atmospheres of the known planets.
