Suryakumar Yadav overtakes Babar Azam in T20I rankings

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav surpassed Pakistan skipper Babar Azam to claim the third position in the latest ICC T20I batters rankings on Wednesday. Suryakumar Yadav of India has made significant gains on the current ICC Men’s Player Rankings. He is extending his ongoing campaign to become the best T20I batter in the world.

In the first match of their three-game series against Australia, Yadav excelled with a polished 46 for India. It helped him move closer to Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan at the top of the T20I batter rankings. Yadav jumped in front of Babar, with Rizwan now just 45 rating points in front of him. With a career-high total of 825 rating points, Rizwan maintains a narrow lead at the top of the rankings.

Babar drops to fourth on the latest rankings following his below par Asia Cup and a return of 31 against England in the series opener of their series, while England’s Dawid Malan (725) and Australia skipper Aaron Finch (715) round out a classy top six. Fast Bowler Haris Rauf, spinners Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Qadir are the Pakistani players to move up the list.
