the Attabad lake was formed when there was a landslide in Attabad village in Hunza valley n Gilgit-Baltistan., 14 kilometers (9 mi) upstream (east) of karimabad that happened in the year 2010 on 4th January. This landslide caused minor destruction and it cost the death of 25 people and it also jammed the flow of the water of Hunza river for more than four months.
