Babar Azam has recently become the 5th Pakistani captain who won his debut series just after 2-0 series of Pakistan win over the country South Africa.
Before him the previous Pakistani captain to achieve this feat was a middle-order batsman named Saleem Malik who just won his debut series in 1994, against New Zealand.
However, Babar is first Pakistani Test captain who clean-sweep his opponent in debut series.
Mushtaq Mohammad, Fazal Mahmood, and Javed Miandad are the three Pakistani captains along with Babar Azam in history to win massively in their debut series.
For this test series Babar was appointed as a captain after his brilliant performance in team’s tour to New Zealand in 2020. However, Babar got unfit due to the thumb injury during the tour.
Meanwhile without the captain, Pakistan went onto lose in the batting unit as well as in the series 2-0.
Moreover, Babar stepped on the field in this Test series as a captain as for the first time and against a strong team of South Africa where the first Test match was held at the National Stadium of Karachi.
It is the first test series of Pakistan that Pakistan has won against SA since 2004. So after around 17 years Pakistan is proud to get this title of winning the test series against SA and proud on the performance of Babar Azam.
