Lady traffic wardens begin patrolling on motorbikes in Lahore.

Women driving cars and motorcycles in the city are once again feeling safe, thanks to the efforts of traffic cops.

Muntazir Mehdi, the Chief Traffic Police Officer of Lahore, launched a motorbike squad to raise awareness and provide security to female drivers. A contingent of 25 lady traffic wardens has been recruited in the initial phase. The lady wardens will patrol the roadways to provide reassurance to female commuters.

The lady traffic wardens will also undertake awareness campaigns in various educational institutions, according to the official. Women will be more likely to ride motorcycles if they see female officers patrolling the roadways.
