Pakistan and seven other Arab and Muslim countries have strongly rejected any attempt to forcibly remove Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Türkiye and Indonesia issued a joint statement on Sunday.
The statement came after recent comments by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defence Minister Israel Katz about removing Palestinians from Gaza. The eight countries said such proposals were unacceptable and rejected plans or measures aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their land.
The countries stressed that Palestinians have the right to remain on their land and that any forced displacement would violate international law. They also reaffirmed their support for Palestinian rights and a political solution based on international principles.
Pakistan has consistently called for an end to the displacement of Palestinians and supported their right to self-determination. The joint position shows continued coordination among Arab and Muslim countries over the future of Gaza and the protection of Palestinian civilians.
